Terms of service
These terms cover your use of the GreenReach website and app. By creating an account you agree to them.
What the service does
GreenReach reads analytics from social accounts you connect, estimates the CO2e associated with the watch time your content earned, and lets you fund tree planting through Ecologi© in proportion to those estimates.
What the estimates are — and are not
This is the most important clause here, so it is not buried. Every CO2e figure in this product is an estimate, produced by applying published per-platform research factors to the watch time a platform reports. It is not a measurement and it is not a certification.
- Platforms do not publish the delivery detail — file sizes, encoding, network path, device efficiency — that a precise calculation would need. Nobody can produce one from the data available.
- Tree equivalence assumes roughly 20 kg CO2e sequestered per tree per year, which varies by species, age and region.
- Funding tree planting does not reduce your emissions and does not make you, your content or your business carbon neutral. It funds a separate climate project. Nothing in this product should be presented to a third party as an offset that cancels a footprint.
- You must not represent our figures as audited, certified or verified, because they are none of those things.
If you need numbers for statutory or contractual reporting, have them prepared by someone qualified to certify them.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
- You must have the right to connect the channels you connect, and to see their analytics.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- You can delete a channel, and everything derived from it, from Settings at any time.
What it costs
Estimating is free and requires no card. You pay only when you choose to fund planting, and every option itemises the same three lines before you commit:
- The trees, at Ecologi©'s price.
- Our fee, 15% of that — stated on screen, never taken out of the planting.
- Card processing, at the rate our processor charges, calculated so that the amount reaching the planting is not reduced by it.
The minimum purchase is 10 trees, which is Ecologi©'s own minimum order. Monthly plans continue until you cancel; a dynamic plan is recalculated from your measured emissions and is capped at 500 trees a month so that an unusually large month cannot produce a surprise charge. Cancelling stops future charges and does not refund planting already funded.
Prices may be shown converted into your currency at a recent exchange rate. The amount actually charged is the one shown at checkout.
Tree planting
Planting is carried out by Ecologi© and its partner projects, not by us. We pass on your order and record it. Where our records say a purchase is funded, that means the money has been taken and the order placed — Ecologi© confirms the planting on its own schedule. We do not control which project, species or location a given order funds.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- connect accounts you do not have the right to;
- attempt to reach another customer's data, or to probe, scan or overload the service (see our security page if you want to report a flaw — that is welcome, and different);
- resell or redistribute the service, or scrape it, without our written agreement;
- use it to make environmental claims you know to be misleading.
Availability
We aim to keep the service up but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Parts of it depend on other companies' APIs — a platform changing or withdrawing an API can stop a channel syncing, and where that happens we will say so in the app rather than showing you stale figures as if they were current.
Ending it
You can stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. Invoice records survive account closure because tax law requires it.
Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of an estimate, for claims you make to others using our figures, for a platform's API changing, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for anything that materially affects you we will tell account holders directly. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of your local mandatory consumer law and may bring proceedings where you live.
